A Letter from Tom:

I will outline what we have to offer at our school and provide some background information on our Big Sky Corporation.

We have been here since 1939 - a total of 69 years. We held the first outfitters license, the first Montana State accredited guide school license, Federal Firearms license and were issued the first guide's license in the Shields River Valley. We also hold a taxidermist license.

We have a course set together that will give you all the fundamentals that are needed to become a professional guide and outfitter.

Through researching other schools we have found that the major part of their programs are repetitious precedures. We will provide you with the knowledge and equipment and you may "practice" these skills on your own time. There is no need to take 3 or 4 weeks of a students time and charge them a disingenuous inflated tuition fee of $2,00o to $5,000 when all of the basics may be taught in a 2 week course at a very nominal fee of $1,475 per student.

I know this to be true, as I have trained many men and women to meet the rising demand for guides and packers in the outfitting industry.

If you are interested in a "boy scout type camp" I suggest you contact another school!

If your basic drive is to become a "master guide or professional outfitter," then I propose you learn from a "master guide & outfitter": a man who left home at age 14 and has made his living off of the land, hunting, trapping and fishing for over 60 years here in southwest Montana, on the edge of Yellowstone National Park.

Remeber that NOTHING takes the place of "experience"!!! Learn from a master, in his field: no frills, no hidden fees, no "instruction books" to sell you: just honest, hands on, reliable instruction that will enable you to make the proper decisions that will enable you to make a living and take care of yoursef in any situation you may encounter!!!
